Regional Manager

Job Description

AFI is looking for an experienced financial inclusion policy expert to be responsible for managing member relations and engagement for ASIA, EASTERN & CENTRAL EUROPE REGION. The Manager, Member Relations shall report to the Director, Strategy and Financial Inclusion Policy. 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The key objective of this position is to manage member relations to support AFI deliver appropriate services to members based on regional and country needs for implementation of financial inclusion policies.

 

Working Relation

The Regional Manager, shall-

  • be directly accountable and report to the Director, Strategy and Financial Inclusion Policy
  • liaise and work closely with other Regional Managers in AFI Management Unit and Regional Offices;
  • liaise and work closely with Business Units within the AFI-Management Unit;
  • liaise and work closely with the AFI members’ institutions in the regions.

 

Responsibilities

The Regional Manager shall-

  • Develop a strategy for implementing a regional financial inclusion initiative to scale AFI’s programs and engagement in the region;
  • Conduct surveys to identify unique regional needs and develop effective strategies for member engagement in the region;
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date data on financial inclusion policy priorities of countries in the region;
  • Develop institutional-wide member engagement approach and guide regional offices on its implementation;
  • Provide inputs to and participate in monitoring and evaluating member engagement in AFI regions;
  • Develop and manage effective and efficient correspondence process for members;
  • Provide strategic inputs to enhance engagement with developed countries regulators and policymakers;
  • Develop strategic engagement plan for high-level engagements with members;
  • Develop and maintain relationship management with focal points in the regions;
  • Develop and submit periodic engagement reports;
  • Develop strategies to enhance AFI’s engagement for broader member’s institutional awareness of AFI services;
  • Develop effective awareness programs on AFI services to members and potential members;
  • Provide guidance to and support AFI Business Units on effective relationship management;
  • Provide innovative inputs for designing programs to address financial inclusion challenges for the region;
  • Develop blogs, inputs to case studies and reports on the regional activities and initiatives including specific impact case studies;
  • Prepare engagement briefs and presentations for Executive Team and Management staff;
  • Participate in and present at relevant events sharing and disseminating AFI member engagement insight;  and 
  • Liaise with the AFI management on any other matter related to enhancing regional engagement and initiative (s). 
 

 Qualification

The candidate will have an advanced (minimum Master or equivalent) degree in Finance, Business, Management, Economics, Law, Communication or International Trade & Development. A minimum of 5 years’ experience working financial regulation or development policy, financial inclusion policy or related field, preferably within an international organization. Fluent in English with working knowledge of Mandarin and or Russian would be a definite asset.
